  • Valid Passport (minimum 6 months validity with at least 1 blank page)

  • Recent Passport-sized Photograph (digital, color, plain background)

  • Confirmed Return or Onward Ticket

  • Proof of Accommodation (hotel booking or invitation letter if staying with family/friends)

  • Birth Certificate (for minors traveling with parents)

  • Valid Credit/Debit Card for online fee payment

2. Online Application Submission

Apply via the official Malaysian government eVisa portal. Complete the application form with your personal, passport, and travel details.

3. Payment of Fees

Pay the required visa fee online. A receipt will be issued once payment is successful.

4. Application Review

The Immigration Department of Malaysia will review your application. Processing typically takes 2–3 business days for eVisa; eNTRI is often faster.

5. Receive Your eVisa / eNTRI Note

Once approved, you will receive your eVisa or eNTRI note by email. Print a copy to bring with you.

6. Present at Immigration in Malaysia

Upon arrival, present your passport, printed eVisa/eNTRI, return ticket, and proof of accommodation for entry stamping.

Eligibility & Requirements

To apply for a Malaysia eVisa / eNTRI, you must:

  • Be a citizen of an eligible country (eligibility varies between eVisa and eNTRI).

  • Hold a valid passport with at least 6 months remaining.

  • Travel for tourism, business, or visiting family/friends (not for work or study).

  • Have proof of return/onward travel within your allowed stay.

  • Provide accommodation details for your trip.

  • Comply with Length of Stay Rules:

    • eVisa: Valid for 30 days stay, single entry.

    • eNTRI: Allows 15 days stay, single entry.

How to Avoid Possible Rejection

To ensure your Malaysian visa is approved without delays:

  • Choose the Right Visa Type: eVisa vs. eNTRI depends on your nationality and purpose of travel.

  • Apply Early: Submit your application at least 1 week before travel.

  • Upload Clear Documents: Photos and passport scans must be sharp, color, and complete.

  • Match Travel Dates: Ensure your return ticket falls within the validity period of the visa.

  • Carry Supporting Documents: Immigration officers may request proof of funds or accommodation upon arrival.

  • Avoid Past Overstays: Any history of overstaying in Malaysia or other immigration violations may lead to rejection.

  • Print Multiple Copies: Keep extra copies of your eVisa/eNTRI note for both entry and departure checks.

By preparing carefully and ensuring accuracy, most travelers receive their Malaysia eVisa or eNTRI approval smoothly.
