Eligibility & Requirements

To apply for a Vietnam eVisa, you must:

  • Be a citizen of one of the approved countries listed by Vietnam Immigration.

  • Hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from your intended date of entry.

  • Provide a recent photo and scanned passport page that meet specifications.

  • Specify entry and exit points: eVisa is valid only for the ports chosen in your application.

  • Travel for permitted purposes: tourism, business, visiting family, or transit. (Employment or long-term stay requires a different visa type.)

  • Comply with Length of Stay Rules: Vietnam eVisa allows a maximum stay of 90 days, single or multiple entry (depending on type selected).

How to Avoid Possible Rejection

To increase your chances of approval:

  • Apply Early: Submit your application at least 7 days before your travel date.

  • Double-check Entry Points: Choose the correct airport, seaport, or land border when applying, as it cannot be changed after approval.

  • Use Clear, Valid Documents: Blurry scans or mismatched details (names, passport numbers) are common reasons for rejection.

  • Avoid Previous Immigration Issues: Prior overstays or violations in Vietnam may impact approval.

  • Match Travel Dates: Your entry date on the application should align with your ticketed travel plans.

  • Carry a Printed Copy: Keep a physical copy of your eVisa for both arrival and departure checks.

By carefully preparing and following the guidelines, most travelers receive their Vietnam eVisa smoothly and without issues.
